Artist's Comments

The acorn was carved from basswood. The chipmunk was carved from tupelo ( a light weight /very little grained/ swamp wood - like cypress trees). The stone at the front was made from plaster and the top oak leaf was made from sheet brass. It has been entered in a few wood shows and has done very well. This is perhaps the carving I like best. It took about 60 hours.
