This craft work really blows my mind. I've never seen something so intricate and lifelike carved from wood before. The subject has so much emotion and life, especially in its eye, which is so impressive. I still have a hard time believing this is woodwork, not photography.
You obviously have a knack for animal anatomy as everything from the pose to the proportions are spot on. I can't tell if the feathers are true feathers or carved-- if they are carved, they don't look like it. It looks like true plumage.
This was one work of art that lives up to its spot as a Daily Deviation.
Yeah. It wasn't intentional neglect, they were owned by a very elderly man who wasn't in his right mind and the three of them were surrendered to the rescue by his kids. They had a good life with me though, big cage, other birds and fresh food and good pellets. His one brother was actually EXTREMELY friendly, I'd reach in to refill a food bowl and he'd book it up my arm to kiss my face. He was ancient though, his feathers were falling out.
That's good! Very good. I should make a facebook page for my flock haha.
