This craft work really blows my mind. I've never seen something so intricate and lifelike carved from wood before. The subject has so much emotion and life, especially in its eye, which is so impressive. I still have a hard time believing this is woodwork, not photography.

You obviously have a knack for animal anatomy as everything from the pose to the proportions are spot on. I can't tell if the feathers are true feathers or carved-- if they are carved, they don't look like it. It looks like true plumage.

This was one work of art that lives up to its spot as a Daily Deviation.

Great work!

"Is this a photo? No, the tree is only half, so it's a taxidermy piece...Well, lets just look and see where it's classified.

Then I saw the category. Fantastic job!

Ah that is terrible! I lost one a few weeks ago, he was a rescue and very old and not too friendly. Another one is badly injured and I have him on medication.

He was unbanded, but he was fed a really bad diet also. He died of liver failure like his two brothers. So I don't know how old he was :c

That's really sad....:tears:

Mine presumably died of arrhythmia a few days after he turned 16 years old. I still have another one alive today, and he'll be 17 in December.

I actually made a facebook page for them:

Yeah. It wasn't intentional neglect, they were owned by a very elderly man who wasn't in his right mind and the three of them were surrendered to the rescue by his kids. They had a good life with me though, big cage, other birds and fresh food and good pellets. His one brother was actually EXTREMELY friendly, I'd reach in to refill a food bowl and he'd book it up my arm to kiss my face. He was ancient though, his feathers were falling out.

That's good! Very good. I should make a facebook page for my flock haha.
